Controls Engineer

Join our team as an Engineer specializing in real-time control of production units, playing a pivotal role in integrating and managing modern power systems.

About the role

As a Controls Engineer develop expertise in PowerFactory, EMS, and related tools. The role focuses on coordinating the planning and integration of new production units and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with internal teams and external partners, ensuring accurate system modeling and readiness for commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Monitoring developments in conformity procedures for new units.

• Coordinating the planning and integration of production units.

• Managing real-time data exchange with clients, including secure VPN setups and signal transmission support.

• Planning and executing compliance tests with internal and client-side stakeholders.

• Validating real-time signal exchanges to meet the requirements.

• Maintaining and updating model data for new units, ensuring quality and consistency.

• Supporting dispatching with technical input for flexibility activations.

• Designing and documenting data flows and processes; driving improvements and standardization.

• Contributing to working groups related to system integration and process optimization.

What we're looking for

We are seeking a candidate with a Master’s degree in a technical field, preferably telecommunications, energy, electrical engineering, or electromechanics. The ideal candidate also has the following competences:

• Basic understanding of high-voltage network modeling.

• Strong team player with initiative and structured work habits.

• Excellent communication skills, especially in client interactions.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to articulate and defend technical positions.

• Capable of working with highly critical systems.

• Fluent in English and either Dutch or French.
