Costing Specialist

Join our team as a Costing Specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role within the bid team. Use your analytical skills to evaluate proposals, build cost estimates, and propose cost optimization solutions.

About the role

In this role, you'll be integrated to the bid team, analyzing requests for proposals and evaluating materials and manpower needs. You will also maintain the costing database, stay up to date with the latest supplier quotations, and provide precise “Estimated to Complete” figures during project execution.

Key responsibilities

- Be a key player within the bid team

- Analyze requests for proposals and evaluate materials and manpower needs

- Build cost estimates and lead times

- Maintain the costing database with updated manufacturing sequences and labor times

- Propose cost optimization solutions

- Provide accurate cost estimates during project execution phases

- Participate in risk and opportunity analyses

- Provide recommendations to bid and project managers

- Serve as a referent for the ERP system within the project team

What we're looking for

We are looking for a candidate who thrives with data and numbers, enjoys working independently, and has a knack for negotiation and commerce. The ideal candidate will possess the following competences:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanics or Logistics

- Proven experience with ERP systems

- Experience in a similar position is an asset

- Experience with international defense companies is an asset

- Team-oriented approach with strong analytical and customer orientation skills

- Advanced Excel proficiency - Experience using Oracle ERP is a real asset
