Data DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic Data DevOps Engineer to play a pivotal role in maintaining and evolving our database infrastructure and implementing new AI-based data processing technologies.

About the role

In this role, you will act as a crucial link between various departments, ensuring the performance and security of the relational databases across multiple application projects. You will be involved in the complete technological cycle, from research and implementation to backup management and CI/CD-based solution industrialization.

Key responsibilities

• Maintenance and further development of database systems:

  • Relational: PostgreSQL

  • Non-relational: Elastic Search

• Setting up automated backup procedures

• Supporting development teams with legacy software:

  • Expertise in database structures

  • Migration of data structures

  • Replacing stored procedures with backend functionalities

• Maintenance and integration of a centralized logging platform (based on Kafka)

• Participation in the evolution of a widely used business solution with a focus on performance improvements and security

• Involvement in CI/CD processes:

  • Deployments on traditional servers

  • Deployments via container orchestrators such as Kubernetes and OpenShift

• Setting up specialized database environments:

  • Graph DB (Neo4j)

  • Vector DB (Milvus)

• Implementation and maintenance of automated processes:

• Working with an agile methodology

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

• Fluent in French or Dutch, with a very good level of the other language.

• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (Elasticsearch).

• Proficiency in database installation and industrialization through scripting and Python development.

• Experience with distributed messaging systems (Kafka) and database migrations.

• Familiarity with Graph DB (Neo4j) and Vector DB (Milvus) or a willingness to learn quickly.

• Mastery of Git and branch management strategies.

• Knowledge in DevOps practices and tools: GitOps, GitLab, CI/CD, Kubernetes.

• Experience in agile work environments, particularly in Scrum methodology.
