About the role

As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building and scaling the data infrastructure that supports our engineering, analytics, and operational activities. Working within a multidisciplinary development team, you will design and maintain robust data platforms, enable advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives, and help drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.

You will collaborate closely with software developers, data scientists, and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high-performance data solutions that contribute directly to the development and performance of our innovative rocket systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable data pipelines and architectures that support engineering, analytics, and operational use cases.

  • Build and maintain reliable data platforms, ensuring data availability, consistency, scalability, and performance.

  • Manage and optimize databases, data lakes, and storage solutions for both structured and unstructured data.

  • Enable machine learning and advanced analytics initiatives through efficient data processing workflows and integrations.

  • Improve CI/CD processes by automating testing, deployment, and quality controls to enhance development efficiency and reliability.

  • Partner with software developers, data scientists, and engineers to deliver data solutions that meet business and project needs.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data engineering standards, development practices, and testing strategies.

Job requirements

What we're looking for

We are looking for a data engineer with solid technical foundations, a collaborative mindset, and a strong focus on quality and reliability. You should combine data engineering experience with the ability to work confidently in a multidisciplinary environment.

  • You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Informatics, or an equivalent field, ideally with a specialisation in Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline

  • You have solid experience in data engineering

  • You are proficient in Python, SQL, Spark, and Docker, especially for data processing, AI applications, and automation

  • You are familiar with Jenkins, Jupyter, Superset, and Dagster; experience with data warehousing and Kubeflow is a plus

  • You understand databases, data lakes, data warehouses, CI/CD pipelines, and unit testing; knowledge of MATLAB unit testing is a plus

  • You have a strong interest in open source and on-premises solutions and keep up with trends and innovations in the field

  • You communicate clearly and work well in a multidisciplinary team, with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and you bring strong attention to detail and a commitment to technical excellence, quality, and reliability

  • Additional knowledge of software engineering, frontend development, data analytics, C/C++, Git, DevOps, and Bitbucket would be an advantage

  • Fluent in French and English
