Data Functional Analyst

About the role

As a Data Functional Analyst, you'll engage with multi-disciplinary agile teams, working closely with data engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure the effective validation of data. You'll design the architecture and models for data within a collaborative framework involving key stakeholders. Your role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and alignment of data processes within a complex technical environment. The development will be in Python on DataBricks.

Key responsibilities

• Engaging regularly with business stakeholders (data teams and subject matter experts) to understand operational needs and translate them into data and technical requirements

• Analyzing business processes and data flows (incoming and outgoing) to ensure alignment with business goals

• Designing data architecture and data models in collaboration with Data Architects

• Defining functional specifications for developments in close coordination with the Data Governance team, BI Technical Leads, and ICT teams

• Liaising with the Data Protection Officer to ensure full compliance with GDPR and security standards

• Participating actively in testing and validation of developed data products

• Delivering key documentation including Business Requirements, Functional Analysis, Technical Analysis, and Test Plans

• Supporting end users post-delivery through training, guidance, and continuous improvement

• Acting as the main point of contact for feedback and enhancements after product launch

What we're looking for

• You hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science or have equivalent experience through a solid professional track record.

• You bring 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in functional data analysis.

• You have expertise in data modelling within a data warehouse environment, ideally following the Kimball methodology.

• You’re confident in designing and analyzing data flows.

• Previous experience as a Data Engineer is a strong asset.

• Communication with clarity and confidence, both verbally and in writing

• You’re able to speak one national language fluently and understands the other well

• You can translate business needs into actionable technical solutions

• A strong focus on delivering results

• You can build trust with stakeholders through active listening and assertiveness

• Experience to collaborate easily across teams and thrives in a transversal environment
