Job description
Embedded Systems Project Manager
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager – Embedded Systems to lead a high-impact strategic initiative within a large-scale organization. The project centers on evaluating and potentially transforming the IT systems that support both onboard vehicle technology and real-time operational coordination.
You will be responsible for analyzing the current embedded and dispatch systems, assessing their functionalities, and building a comprehensive business case to support a key strategic decision: whether to continue internal development or transition to a commercial off-the-shelf solution.
You’ll collaborate with a diverse internal team of engineers, developers, analysts, and stakeholders, and steer the project from architecture review through planning, execution, and decision-making—ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term mobility objectives.
This is a full-time hybrid role based in Namur, with two days of remote work per week (preferably on-site Thursdays and Fridays).
Key responsibilities
Assess current embedded and support systems (onboard computer & dispatching software).
Develop AS-IS and TO-BE architectural definitions with internal architects.
Draft and deliver a strategic analysis and accompanying business case.
Build a preliminary project plan supporting the recommended direction.
Lead full project lifecycle:
Time management and project breakdown (WBS).
Resource tracking and coordination.
Risk and interdependency management.
KPI dashboards and progress reporting.
Change management & steering committees.
Ensure stakeholder alignment across cross-functional teams.
Maintain direct reporting line with the Department's Project Portfolio Coordinator.
Support continuous improvement of project methodologies within the department.
Ensure transverse alignment between teams responsible for both ODB and SAE systems.
