Fiber Engineer

As a Fiber Engineer, the role supports external design partners in crafting fiber optic networks for clients. Acting as the technical specialist, this position oversees processes, provides substantive coaching, and resolves complex issues.

About the role

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and coaching to external design teams.

• Oversee quality control and ensure compliance in fiber designs.

• Facilitate daily Q&A sessions and manage escalations from design partners.

• Assist subcontractors with document interpretation and on-site challenges.

• Address complex technical issues and deliver effective solutions.

• Collaborate with project managers and key stakeholders.

• Drive knowledge sharing and contribute to process improvements within the team.

• Develop designs for complex fiber projects.

• Assess the impact of network interruptions and coordinate mitigation with subcontractors.

What we're looking for

• At least 3–5 years of experience in fiber engineering or design.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with fiber design tools (Marlin is a plus).

• Coaching and coordination skills.

• Resilience and flexibility in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to recognize and address discrepancies between system data and field reality.

• Excellent English communication skills, with Dutch as a plus.
