Mechanical Project Engineer - Senior

Engage in the transformation of our Germanium production facilities, working from concept to execution under the guidance of an engineering project manager. This role is pivotal in our quest to continuously innovate within the Electro-Optic Materials business unit.

About the role

As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in modernizing and expanding our Germanium production facilities. Our business unit, Electro-Optic Materials, leads the way in Germanium material solutions for diverse sectors. Your expertise will help propel our engineering projects, ensuring our facilities remain at the forefront of technological advancement.

Key responsibilities

• Translate client requirements into technical designs for equipment, piping, and mechanical components.

• Execute conceptual designs and basic engineering projects, focusing on layout, design, and equipment selection.

• Propose technical solutions and provide input for HAZOP risk analyses.

• Engage in procurement activities, from inquiry to invoicing, ensuring project completion.

• Prepare budgets, plan discipline-specific activities, and provide technical support during project execution.

• Maintain client and contractor relationships, coordinate quality control, and manage technical documentation.

What we're looking for

A senior or medior mechanical project engineer with extensive experience in industrial process equipment design.

• Master’s degree in engineering (preferably electromechanics) or equivalent experience.

• 10+ years in designing process equipment installations. • Proficient in design and visualization software, especially Autocad.

• Familiarity with engineering rules, regulations, and standards.

• Well-organized, autonomous, with strong analytical and communication skills.

• Fluent in Dutch and English; basic German and French knowledge is a plus.

• VCA certification is mandatory.
