Modeling Engineer Thermodynamics

As a Model-Based Engineer at VeroTech, you'll be at the forefront of innovation, driving growth by developing models that enhance existing technologies and introduce new ones. Join our team to play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of engineering.

About the role

As a Model-Based Engineer, you will support various departments by developing models aimed at improving our technological capabilities. You'll work with simulations and calculation models to predict enhancements and innovate new technologies. Additionally, you'll leverage experimental data to refine simulations and contribute to the expansion of our Model-Based Engineering Framework.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve thermodynamic models and simulations (≈60% of your work)

• Translate physical principles into custom code in Python and MATLAB (OOP) (≈40% of your work)

• Contribute to the Model-Based Engineering framework, ensuring models are structured, reusable, and scalable

• Use lab and production data to refine and validate models

• Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of the modeling infrastructure

• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate models into product development processes

What we're looking for

• Master or Phd degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Energy, Mechatronics, Applied Physics, Mathematical Engineering, …)

• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics (must-have)

• Programming skills in Python and MATLAB (OOP)

• Interest in model development and software design

• Proactive, problem-solving, and eager to learn

• Relevant professional experience is a plus, but motivated graduates with the right attitude are welcome

• Fluent in English; Dutch is an asset
