About the role

As a VeroTech consultant, you will work in an advanced materials R&D environment focused on wet chemical processing, functional coatings and thin film deposition. You will help translate material requirements into robust, scalable process solutions while supporting researchers and project teams with clear technical input.

You will combine hands-on process execution with performance analysis, risk communication and continuous improvement. The role involves learning and applying new processing and characterization methods in a multidisciplinary setting where quality, structure and collaboration are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and optimize wet chemical processes for advanced material applications

• Perform electrochemical and chemical deposition of functional coatings and support surface engineering activities

• Support thin film deposition using techniques such as sputtering, thermal evaporation, e-beam deposition, ALD and MLD

• Analyze process performance and identify technical challenges, limitations and improvement opportunities

• Communicate risks and process insights proactively to project teams and stakeholders

• Collaborate with researchers to translate material requirements into robust and scalable process solutions

• Learn and implement new processing methods and characterization techniques

What we're looking for

We are looking for a structured and quality-oriented process engineer with a strong foundation in chemical processing, materials development and hands-on laboratory work.

• Background in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related field

• Mandatory first relevant experience in lab and chemical processing

• Hands-on experience with wet electrochemical or chemical deposition, thin film processing and materials development

• Ideally 3 to 8 years of experience in a similar position

• Solid understanding of chemical processing principles and the interaction between materials, processes and device performance

• Experience in a cleanroom environment is a plus

• Mandatory fluency in English

• Strong communication, networking and reporting skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
