Join us in shaping the technology that will define the society of tomorrow through sustainable semiconductor solutions.

Job description

Join our team to develop a comprehensive, rebound-aware life cycle assessment (LCA) methodology for the electronics industry’s transition towards absolute sustainability.

About the role

The evolution of semiconductor technologies has traditionally been driven by performance increases, power consumption reduction, area, and cost. Future technologies should embrace sustainable scaling, minimizing environmental impact. At VeroTech, we assess the environmental footprint of current and upcoming technologies to develop sustainable solutions and enhance circularity across the supply chain. This role requires a holistic view on the impact of fabrication processes, technologies, and systems.

Key responsibilities

As a Researcher in Life Cycle Assessment you join a team of researchers evaluating the environmental impact of current and future semiconductor technologies. Your tasks are:

Elevate evaluations to a system level and explore alternative solutions at process, device, and design levels.

Study how technology and process changes affect the semiconductor industry's environmental impact, considering a range of factors including region/time dependence and rebound effects.

Develop and mature life cycle assessment for electronic devices to guide the industry toward fully sustainable practices.

Collaborate closely with teams working on process development, device integration, and circuit/system design & characterisation.

Interface with industrial partners to ensure assessments' relevance.
