Senior Data Engineer

Our client is growing it’s Data capabilities to deliver real, high-impact business solutions. To help them, we’re looking for a experienced, self-driven Data Engineer with experience and who’s capable of coaching/training a younger team.

About the role

At first, you will be the driving force behind the implementation by building the foundation, setting up pipelines, and demonstrating optimal approaches. Over time, leadership will transition to another team member, and your role will shift towards either ongoing development or support.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of Microsoft Fabric implementation, from initial architecture to production-grade delivery.

• Design and implement a robust Medallion Architecture in Fabric, leveraging industry best practices for performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Engineer high-performance data pipelines using Python notebooks and Fabric Data Engineering tools, ensuring reliability and efficiency at scale.

• Embed DevOps principles into the data workflow to streamline development, testing, and deployment.

• Lead from the front and deliver hands-on coaching, run targeted workshops, and drive knowledge transfer to elevate the data team’s expertise.

• Partner with stakeholders across the business to ensure seamless adoption and a smooth transition to long-term ownership.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for a seasoned Data Engineer who brings:

• Proven leadership and exceptional communication skills to inspire, align, and deliver.

• Hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Fabric in production at scale.

• A strong record of designing and deploying Medallion Architectures, robust data pipelines, and end-to-end Fabric-based solutions.

• Technical expertise in Python, notebooks, and modern data engineering workflows.

• Solid familiarity with DevOps practices and related tools to streamline delivery.

• The ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.

• A collaborative mindset able to lead initiatives while working seamlessly within a team.

• A practical problem-solving approach, not just an architect.

• Native Dutch fluency with strong English proficiency.
