Senior Functional Analyst

We’re seeking a skilled Senior Functional Analyst to join our consulting team within the public domain to enhance and manage a suite of diverse business applications.

About the role

This program focuses on operational management of approximately thirty applications, addressing both business and technological variances. The initial mission involves transitioning and revamping these applications to align with current modern development standards.

Key responsibilities

The tasks can be divided into two main categories:

1. Hand Over / Take Over: covering documentation, application maintenance, and the development of new features.

2. Re-engineering or complete rewriting of applications: to ensure alignment with current development standards.

With that in mind, you’ll be in charge of:

• Gathering, understanding, and challenging user and stakeholder requirements.

• A clear and rigorous production of functional documents: user stories, use cases, detailed functional specifications, business processes (BPMN, UML, etc.).

• Definition of test cases, validation of developments, participation in user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Prioritization of needs with the Product Owner, backlog maintenance, and scope management with the Project Manager.

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate has the following experience:

• Proficiency in notations such as UML, BPMN, Use Cases, Activity Diagrams, ERD, etc.

• Fluency in French or Dutch, with good knowledge of English.

• Perform functional troubleshooting using simple SQL queries, logs, etc.

• Understand application architectures, including front-end, back-end, APIs, and databases.

• Use collaborative tools such as Confluence and JIRA effectively.

• Provide functional leadership by guiding junior profiles and contributing to product decisions.

• At least 10 years of experience on large-scale projects, ideally in regulated, complex, or critical environments.

• Solid experience working within Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban).

Nice to have:

• Experience in system redesign, migration, or reengineering projects.

• Knowledge of prototyping tools (Balsamiq, Figma, Axure, …).

• Familiarity with frameworks such as ITIL, TOGAF, or PRINCE2.
