About the role

The System Engineer Vision will be vital in the design and integration of opto-mechanical systems. You are responsible for creating opto-mechanical modules for vision systems and integrating complex optical components into mechanical assemblies. Utilizing SolidWorks as the primary CAD tool for modeling and assemblage will be essential.

This role involves hands-on prototype building, test setup, validation through measurements, troubleshooting, and iteratively enhancing systems. Data analysis via Python/Matlab is required for quick checks, automation, and debugging.

As a systems engineer, you'll serve as the technical point of contact for clients, understanding their needs, explaining choices, and building trust. You'll collaborate closely with R&D teams in Belgium and Singapore, making decisions autonomously on site interventions, notably in locations like Taiwan.

What we're looking for

We are seeking a profile with strong experience in opto-mechanical design and proficiency with SolidWorks. Understanding optical principles and how to translate these into mechanical designs is essential. A hands-on mindset for building, testing, measuring, and debugging is necessary. Candidates should have basic to advanced knowledge of Python and/or Matlab for data analysis.

• Strong experience in opto-mechanical design.

• Understanding of optical principles and their mechanical translation.

• Hands-on mindset: building, testing, measuring, debugging.

• Basic to advanced knowledge of Python and/or Matlab for data analysis.

• Strong communication skills, customer-oriented, comfortable with technical explanations.

• R&D mindset: analytical, problem-solving, iterative working style.

• Willingness to occasionally travel internationally (Taiwan, Singapore).

• System engineering experience is a plus, though opto-mechanics is paramount.
