Job description
Our client is seeking for its department dedicated to the advancement and maintenance of cutting-edge compression technologies for gas applications. Their team engages in various activities, from pioneering new developments to refining existing products, while also collaborating on innovations with internal departments, R&D units, and external partners. We oversee the full spectrum of the process, including product strategy, design, testing, and all the way through to customer delivery. To further enhance our analytical and simulation capabilities, we are seeking a skilled Thermodynamics Engineer.
About the role
In this dynamic role, you carry out comprehensive engineering calculations to influence design decisions. Your expertise cover thermodynamic, fluid dynamic, mechanical, bearing, and structural analyses. You are responsible for developing and maintaining analytical and numerical models to simulate compressor and component behaviors across various gases and operating conditions.
This role includes conducting detailed mechanical integrity assessments like stress, strain, and fatigue analyses for critical components and performing thermodynamic evaluations to assess system efficiency and performance. You execute advanced bearing calculations to ensure the durability and reliability of rotating equipment and perform structural analyses to ensure the robustness and safety of assemblies and subcomponents.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret customer requests concerning special gas applications and offer expert advice on calculation methodologies.
- Utilize critical thinking and engineering judgment to define relevant boundary cases and operational scenarios.
- Calibrate and validate models using data-driven approaches to ensure they align with theoretical predictions and actual performance.
- Reporting directly to the Beyond Air Task Force Leader.
Job requirements
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Electromechanical, Energy, or Mechatronics engineering, or equivalent experience.
We are looking for competencies such as:
- Extensive knowledge in thermodynamics and structural analysis.
- Programming skills, particularly in Matlab.
- Proficiency in English. Knowledge of an additional language is a plus.
- A genuine interest in technology and innovation.
- Enthusiasm for a dynamic and multi-disciplinary work environment.
