About the role

As a VeroTech consultant, you will work in a team of more than 20 controls engineers developing control software for hybrid dual-clutch transmission systems. The software follows a Model-Based Development V-cycle using Simulink, with focus areas such as driving strategy, coordination, clutch and gear actuation, diagnostics and functional safety.

You will contribute across the full development flow, from requirements alignment to design, implementation, simulation verification and validation support. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders in systems engineering, validation, embedded software, testing and simulation.

Key responsibilities

  • Define software requirements for assigned functions in alignment with customer expectations

  • Design control strategies for transmission application software modules

  • Implement control functions in Simulink within a Model-Based Development process

  • Verify software functions in a MiL simulation environment

  • Support validation activities on HiL platforms, test benches and vehicles

  • Contribute to functions such as driving strategy, actuation, diagnostics and functional safety

  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to help realise new powertrain technologies

Job requirements

What we're looking for

We are looking for an analytical controls engineer with strong experience in model-based software development, automotive validation and structured problem solving.

  • Master’s or PhD in Mechatronics, Controls, Electrical Engineering or a similar field

  • 3+ years of work experience, preferably in an automotive context

  • Extensive experience with Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow and Embedded Coder

  • Experience with production-intended control strategy design for code generation purposes

  • Ability to perform structured root-cause analysis of complex software and system-level issues

  • Experience with functional and nonfunctional testing at software validation level for automotive components, subsystems or systems, plus data and measurement analysis such as CANape

  • Good knowledge of ISO 26262 part 6 and ASPICE SWE1 to SWE6, with a basic understanding of AUTOSAR

  • Experience with Agile teams and toolchains such as JIRA is an asset, combined with strong organisation, communication and teamwork skills
